OUR STORY

Brophy Clark Cellars is a unique partnership that combines the talents of winemaker, John Clark with the viticulture expertise of his wife, Kelley Brophy Clark.


Their goal is to produce the best wine possible from some of the Central Coast’s most outstanding vineyards and to bring those wines to you at a good value. The Clark’s focus on Pinot Noir, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel—varietals they feel excel in this region.


Brophy Clark Cellars produces approximately 2,500 cases of wine annually. Working with small lots, John and Kelley are able to handcraft each wine and personally handle all phases of the winemaking process. Vineyard blocks are hand-selected by Kelley and John tailors winemaking techniques to each lot, bringing to life the varietal character and vineyard expression of the fruit.

MEET THE FAMILY
Family is important to John and Kelley and Brophy Clark Cellars is very much a family business. They live in the small rural town of Nipomo, California. Daughter Sarah is attending UC San Diego, majoring in biological sciences.Son Blake attends high school and enjoys football and baseball. Away from the winery, the family spends their time skiing, gardening, horseback riding, volleyball, tennis and volunteering in the community.

Kelley’s mother also plays a role in the family business. As an accomplished watercolor artist, Mary Campista painted the beautiful landscapes that grace the Brophy Clark wine bottles.
